On the eve of the biggest (and hottest) London Climate Action Week (LCAW) on record, hub101.earth proudly hosted our first social event. On Monday June 22nd, we welcomed our colleagues and friends from across the globe, in town to advance hugely important topics such as nature-based solutions, climate finance and innovation, integrity and scaling of carbon markets, sustainable development, just and inclusive green transition.
It was a special evening, made possible by our incredible trustees, Yuejia Peng, Shujoya Venugopalan, Aysen Norton, and our dedicated team. In particular, we celebrated the inspiring work of our wonderful strategic and knowledge partners: Forest Trends Association, Jen Stebbing, My Trees Trust, the Great Green Wall Frontier, IDL Liberia and Marine Conservation Institute. We shared our gratitude to our special advisors Sarah Lawlor, Katherine Hamilton, Tom Evans, Paul Markwell and John Mundy for their generous guidance and support. We were also delighted to be joined by many other friends and colleagues from across the public sector, businesses, civil society and academia, including S&P Global, Goldman Sachs, University of Cambridge and related conservation organisations, African Parks, Carbon Tanzania and Level, as well as UK and other governments.
Events like this remind us how important hub101.earth mission is: to make climate, nature and environmental knowledge accessible, evidence-based and solutions-focused. Over the past three years, hub101.earth has grown to feature 80+ e-learning modules across five key topics, a Conversations@hub101.earth podcast (with new episodes filmed during LCAW coming soon), youth programmes, and a growing global community.
