This month marks a year since hub101.earth’s official launch in August 2024. We wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate and reflect over our achievement so far.
Over the course of the past year, we have launched 68 different learning modules online, spanning five different 101 Series: Climate Change & Mitigation, Carbon Markets & Pricing, Nature & Biodiversity, Sustainable Finance & ESG and Water. We joined forces with four special strategic and knowledge partners – Forest Trends Association, My Trees Trust, Jen Stebbing and IDL Liberia. We developed and delivered an interactive workshop for the students at the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. We took our mission to COP29, New York and London Climate Weeks, and numerous other events focused on climate, nature and people. Last but not least, we launched a pilot schools workshop program to bring more in person training to high schools and students.
We couldn’t have done this alone: we are very grateful to our researchers, volunteers, partners, advisors, readers and supporters for being part of our journey so far and for sharing our mission.
Looking ahead, we believe our work is more important than ever – to share environmental, climate and nature-based knowledge broadly so that everyone can be part of the solution.
Our Founder and Managing Director Yuejia Peng says: “What a difference a year makes, I am so proud of everything we have achieved so far – creating, curating and sharing basic knowledge on these hugely important topics that affect all of us. I founded hub101.earth for three reasons: to spread the word about solutions in a positive and balanced way, to make learning easier and more accessible for everyone, and to empower young people and those in the Global South to take positive action wherever they are. Our motto is Learn, Share, Act; and I’m so glad to see our work continues to be highly relevant and central to the change we all want to see. Happy anniversary from all of us here at hub101.earth; we can’t wait to see what’s next!”
