Today, Yuejia Peng, Founder and Managing Director of hub101.earth, visited the African Leadership Academy (ALA) during Entrepreneurial Festival (E-Fest) and successfully delivered our first bespoke in-person workshop.
Over the past few weeks, we worked closely with ALA’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Faculty (EL) to design a workshop for their students, aged 17-18, adopting our popular e-Learning material to a specific young audience in Africa. The one and half hour workshop was titled “using nature and technology to deliver climate solutions”, and covered important concepts around climate, nature and sustainable development. In particular, we included an interactive session focusing on the delivery of real climate solutions across the continent through active role-playing and group discussions.
Over 30 students registered and attended the session. The workshop was delivered on the day of the Entrepreneurship Festival (E-Fest): an annual hallmark event which showcases the enterprising ideas of ALA Year 1 students.
Yuejia says: “I am hugely thankful to ALA – in particular the EL staff and students – for working closely with us to design and deliver this successful workshop. Youth is one of our key target audience groups: we want to put the solutions into hands of the next generation, empowering them to take action and make better decisions from wherever they are. In particular, Africa has huge potential to host many conventional and innovative solutions, across nature, land and technology. This has been an invaluable experience for me and a major step forward for hub101.earth. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with ALA and delivering more workshops in the near future”.
